Many Lockheed Martin employees are still working from home. Some have put routines in place and are loving it and others are counting the days until they can get back to the office. Here are 10 tips to help you survive working from home.
- Get up at your usual time and get ready for the day just as if you were going into the office.
- Have a dedicated workspace and headset for your phone to limit background noise.
- Start work before the rest of your household wakes up; answering emails and writing others is a great place to start.
- Use your morning 15-20-minute break to have breakfast with the family and talk about the day’s plan to set expectations.
- Work on projects before lunch when your brain is typically the sharpest.
- Actually, take a lunch break! Eat leftovers outside on the patio or get some fresh air by taking a walk with your family and pets.
- Group your phone calls together in the afternoon, so once you’re on a roll you can keep on going.
- Vary your working position between sitting and standing throughout the day.
- Use your afternoon 15-20-minute break to grab a healthy snack and toss in a load of laundry.
- End the day: turn off the computer and leave your dedicated workspace.
